This One and Magic Life by Anne C. George
A beautifully written book, with one of the best opening passages I've ever read. George is best known for her "Southern Sisters" mysteries; if you already know her through those, you'll meet an entirely different author here.
The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom
This book was literally a page-turner for me as I couldn't wait to see who Eddie would encounter next as he reviewed his life and learned its lessons. Did he save the little girl or is she awaiting him as the fifth person he'll meet in heaven? A fast-paced, delightful read, quickly delivers the answer. I enjoyed this book so much, I also plan to read Albom's "Tuesdays with Morrie".
Author Gladys Taber
Gladys Taber was a simple countrywoman who lived in a pre-Revolutionary house in Connecticut and a pond-side cottage on Cape Cod. She writes of simple pleasures: her homes and the nature surrounding them, family and friends, her beloved dogs and cats. People collect her out-of-print books with a passion, for once you get to know her, she's like an old friend you'll want to visit again and again!
