Angels are fascinating, as real as anything we know, yet elusive as mist. We could as easily capture a rainbow as we could an angel! You never know when an angel may appear by your side. You may see them or simply sense their presence. They may speak to you or work silently and anonymously on your behalf. Believe in your angels, speak with them, express gratitude to them. Don't worry if you never see one - rest assured, they'll hear you!

An Overview Angels are a spiritual bridge between heaven and earth. They serve as messengers, guides, and guardians. You don't have to believe in angels in order for them to assist you, and they don't care what, if any, religion you belong to. However, if you make your belief in angels known, and welcome them to you by speaking to them or showing that you believe in them, you can draw more angels near. Anyone who researches angels may come away with as many questions as answers. Anyone who strives to know the absolute truth of these ethereal creatures will at some point simply have to choose what to believe. My belief in angels is simplicity itself - I believe that angels are agents sent from heaven to help us on our earthly journey. They may take the form of a classic angel with wings and halo, surrounded by celestial light - or they may take human form in order to assist us incognito. Though to my knowledge I have never seen an angel, I believe without question that they exist. At any moment we may see an angel or be blessed by angelic intervention! It's commonly believed that angels exist in Orders, or Choirs. Though there are conflicting reports of what exactly these are called, here is the most common ranking ~ Seraphim Cherubim Thrones or Ophanim Dominions or Dominations Virtues Powers Principalities Archangels Angels The Seraphim are closest to God, constantly surrounding Him. Cherubim are usually depicted as chubby babies with tiny wings, but were originally quite frightful creatures similar to griffins. We sometimes call Cherubim "Putti", an adorable name that fits our idealized image of these creatures. The Thrones are charged with bringing heaven's justice to earth, and are sometimes thought to be the "chariot" of God, drawn by Cherubim charioteers. The Dominions, who are often depicted carrying sceptors, oversee the other angels, seeing to it that God's will is done. The Virtues perform miracles of grace and valor on earth, often empowering human heroes. The Powers act as a heavenly shield, guarding the earth from demons. The Principalities are protectors of religion. It is the Archangels and Angels that humans most often have contact with. The Archangels are the messengers, delivering heavenly decrees to earthbound mortals. Though near the bottom of the Order, Archangels are held in highest regard, perhaps due to their closeness and service to us. Angels are the very most accessible to man, and indeed, are the nearest thing to being human yet having angelic qualities.
